The existing Mary Wells Middle School and Southbridge High School are located on separate sites in downtown Southbridge. Both facilities were outdated and had insufficient floor area and site space. The new combined middle/high school allowed for shared – core facilities, providing a cost-effective solution. Even though the site required extensive site utilities, grading and infrastructure improvements, NV5 was able to accelerate the schedule to allow the school to open for fall 2012 instead of the original planned winter 2013 date.
