NV5 SELECTED FOR BAGDOUMA PARK EXPANSION

The City of Coachella has selected NV5 to provide design and surveying services for the Bagdouma Park renovation and expansion project. In response to the City’s need to provide adequate recreational facilities for their expanding youth sport programs, NV5 will be working alongside Community Works Design Group Landscape Architecture in the development of the $6milllion dollar project that includes: three new soccer fields, a football field, parking lot, restrooms, sports lighting, playgrounds, walking paths, water features and other recreational amenities.

The scope of the project also includes the extension of Fredrick Street to Avenue 51. These street improvements will require right-of-way acquisition and two traffic signal installations. NV5 will provide civil engineering services including boundary survey, topography, site grading, hydrology, on and offsite utilities, offsite street improvements, traffic signalization and construction staking.

As one of the longest-incorporated cities in the Coachella Valley, the City of Coachella has the youngest population, with a median age of 26. More than 150 teams play league soccer at Bagdouma Park. ”We are very excited to be part of a project that involves well-established infrastructure and an expanding community” said Stephen F. Crevoiserat, engineering manager at NV5, “it paves the way for future growth in the City.”

The first phase of the project, near the existing water tank, is set to begin construction in July 2012 and be completed by November 2012. The westerly phases are set to begin design in October 2012 and start construction in January 2013 with a completion date of May 2013.
