Field Surveyor, 6 years at Quantum Spatial

What do you like most about your job?
I love being outdoors and exploring new places.  As a surveyor, I’ve set foot on every state except Florida, Alaska, and Hawaii.  I also like the variety of work. Each project is different and there is usually something new to learn every time.
What’s your favorite work location?
There are so many inspiring places to choose from. Off the top of my head, I love the Frank Church Wilderness in Idaho, Zion in Utah, and North Carolina’s Ocracoke Island.  Really, that’s only scratching the surface- there’s so many more!  I really enjoy the LiDAR projects we do, and my favorite aspect of work is navigating the remote logging roads.  It can be an adventure sometimes and often you can see wildlife.
When not working, what do you like to do?
For hobbies, I’m into fishing, soccer, skiing, traveling, and foraging for mushrooms with my dog!
