Since its founding in 1996, Ladybird Nursery has distinguished itself as one of the best British nurseries in Dubai, with the newly built Ladybird Nursery, completed in 2022, is one of its unique kind of the schools in UAE.
Designed by Godwin Austen Johnson, Ladybird Nursery, is the second early years setting in the region to be awarded the prestigious United States Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy & Environment Design (LEED) Gold certification, after the clients’ preivously built unit “Ladybird Early Learning Centre”. Notable achievements are,
• Highest Score outside US for a Nursery, in the stringent version 4 of LEED for Schools
• Second Highest Score in the world for a Nursery, in the stringent version 4 of LEED for Schools. (First is the Early Childhood Academy PCS in Washington USA)
• Second highest score for a Nursery in the MENA in all versions (v2009, v4) of LEED for Schools (First is the Lady Bird Nursery JVC)
• Sixth Highest score for a Nursery in the world in all versions of LEED for Schools
Working alongside Godwin Austen Johnson, the design team gave careful consideration to indoor environment for children, adding to the school’s overall sustainable value. NV5 provided a range of services which has helped achieve the par the envisaged sustainability of the school.
