Established as a full service Geographic Information System (GIS) consulting firm in 1992, GIS Solutions, Inc. provides GIS products and services to federal, state, local and private sector clients, including Fortune 500 companies. GIS Solutions’ corporate headquarters is located in Springfield, Illinois. GIS Solutions’ staff of 18 includes PMP certified Project Managers, Senior GIS Developers, GIS Application Developers, GIS Technicians and a Business Analyst.

GIS Solutions understands that successful software development projects require good planning, knowledge transfer, and project management. GIS Solutions has teamed with Oxcart permit solutions to provide an online service that solves the complexities and headaches of local permitting and routing for oversize and overweight vehicles. GIS Solutions built upon our experience working with the Illinois DOT on implementing and managing their automated permit process. Our component of the Oxcart application is a GIS based navigation system that selects optimum routes based on dimensions of the vehicle and obstructions (clearances) and restrictions at the time of the proposed move. The obstructions and restrictions are managed by the permit issuing entity with a set of web-based GIS tools.
