For over 15 years, NV5 has maintained a professional relationship with United Airlines. As the world’s largest flight training center, the Denver facility—known as DENTK—is a hub for aviation excellence. In 2023 alone, United hired more than 2,300 pilots. United’s investments in people, infrastructure, and cutting-edge technology at DENTK fulfills the need for more training capacity. The Flight Training Center, originally constructed in the late 1960s, now supports 8 buildings and more than 700,000 square feet of training space. NV5’s work at DENTK include the following projects:
Building A, B, C, D, E, & F Renovations – Multi-phase project including Scan-to-BIM of the entire campus to be used by the design teams, development of new training rooms, new classrooms, and new assembly space, a complete remodel of the cafeteria, and new air blown fiber backbones to connect new and existing IDFs. Full Flight Simulator Bays in Buildings D, E, and F were fully renovated along with Fixed Training Device rooms.
Building F A320 Bays SIM Conversions – Designs for Building F to convert A320 Simulation Bays from hydraulic-based systems to electromechanical systems. Upgrades were also made to data in the computer room, establishing seamless transitions from one technology system to another.
Building G – Spaces include simulation rooms, training centers, briefing rooms, conference spaces, and offices. Comprehensive telecom infrastructure and technology systems promote hands-on learning for aviators.
Building H – Simulator expansion with spaces and equipment such as large capacity multi-function training rooms, several variations of standard conference rooms, briefing rooms, Full Flight Simulators (FFS), and Fixed Training Devices (FTD). Contains a building-to-building connection on the campus plus a building wide paging system.
