The scope of work involved using the DJI Mavic 3E Drone and the NavVis VLX 3 Mobile Scanner to capture the exterior and interior of six buildings: the EK Science, Hackler Gym/Fieldhouse, Saltmarsh Library, Low, Shepard, and the Arts & Humanities Buildings. This process generated 2,532 panorama images for a web-based virtual tour and 831 drone images for thorough inspection and documentation.
The collected data provided height values through elevations and visually represented terrain shapes using contours. This information facilitated informed decision-making for space planning, future expansions, and renovations while also offering insights for safety assessments. By producing a detailed point cloud file compatible with CAD/BIM software, the project will assist in the effective integration of new construction, ensuring compatibility with existing structures and enhancing the overall functionality of the campus.
