GRS Group, an NV5 Company, is a Preferred Provider of Green Reports for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

Author: Jeff Coyne, Senior Vice President, GRS Group and NV5 Company

GRS Group (GRS) is a preferred provider of Green Report deliverables for both Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs), Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.  NV5 can assist in completing Fannie Mae Green Rewards and/or Freddie Mac Green Advantage Deliverables.

GRS has been pre-approved and is in good standing with both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac since the preferred provider lists were created. GRS has delivered hundreds of green assessments for these programs and continues to work with the site on yearly monitoring, benchmarking, and other services even after the initial loan deliverables have been completed and the loan is closed. GRS deliverables are highly detailed property analyses based on ASHRAE Level 2 energy audit protocols. Data collection, collation, analysis, and reporting can all be done in as little as two weeks.

Green reporting fees are reimbursed by the Agencies as the loan closes, provided the loan closes under the Green program. Green reports require borrowers to engage a third-party Collection data collection consultant before the origination of the loan to collect, input, and monitor actual energy and water usage through the term of the loan.  This data can be used for loan qualification but also can be used for property management and upgrades, when complete.

GRS is well-versed in both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac requirements and is an expert in the steps needed to perform under the program requirements.  Agency Green Financing programs are some of the most competitive and become more attractive in a rising interest rate environment. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have continually updated requirements for qualification and loan incentives.

GRS can help clients determine if the program is right for them.
