Emergency Management

For over four decades, NV5 Geospatial has been at the forefront of collecting and processing high-resolution terrestrial &  bathymetric lidar and orthoimagery for coastal and marine resource programs. The technology at our disposal allows for fast and effective emergency management GIS services. We have experience in acquiring data with close attention to tides, water clarity, airspace restrictions, and weather patterns to ensure success. We also offer integrated GIS solutions to harness data into actionable information. Guided by coastal geospatial experts, our data products, analytics, and enterprise GIS solutions inform resource management, habitat mapping, and coastal resiliency planning for future generations.

Flooding

NV5 Geospatial is a trusted partner to FEMA and other agencies charged with damage assessment and recovery operations following riverine or coastal flooding. Additionally, we also support flood mitigation measures with floodplain mapping, inundation modeling, and predictive flood risk analytics.

Geologic Hazards

Utilize geospatial analytics to detect geologic hazards, including landslides and fault lines. High resolution lidar modeling and orthoimagery reveals subtle surface features that are undetectable via aerial photographs or field observation. Upon completing geologic features, the areas are attributed with respective slope angle, aspect, vegetation cover, mean annual precipitation and other variables affecting hazard probability.

Human-made Disasters

We have a proven record of quickly mobilizing to support emergency response efforts following infrastructure failures, gas explosions, oil spills, and other disasters. In addition to assisting search and recovery efforts, our engineering-grade maps and orthoimagery can inform forensic analysis and reconstruction.

Rapid Emergency Response

In a word, preparedness. When disaster strikes, NV5 Geospatial is ready to offer emergency management GIS services. We can mobilize aircraft and crew at a moment’s notice and have the national coverage to respond within 24 hours anywhere in the U.S.

Wildlife & Habitat Conservation

NV5 Geospatial is a valued contributor to both ongoing and disaster-specific mitigation programs. In addition to participating in FEMA’s Flood Hazard Mapping Program, we’ve provided orthoimagery to support damage assessment, recovery planning, and habitat restoration in the aftermath of hurricanes, tornados, floods, fires, and other crises.
