Another NV5 Project Receives LEED Gold

The Utah Specialty Care Center located in the Daybreak community in South Jordan, Utah, has received LEED Gold Certification status.

The 208,000 square foot building completed in late fall 2011, designed to achieve LEED Silver Certification, has exceeded this initial goal. NV5’s scope of work included design of a 96 inch corrugated metal pipe detention chamber for the 100 year storm drain event along with a drywell system to provide infiltration and recharge of the local ground water, and the design of the site utilities, and on site grading, drainage and paving.

“At NV5 we are committed to providing our clients with the most practical sustainable solutions” said Curt McCuistion, PE, LEED-AP, CMQ/OE of NV5, “the Utah Specialty Care Center receiving LEED Gold certification is a testament to this commitment” he concluded.

The design of the facility includes a large 3-storey atrium allowing natural light supply to the interior of the building that will house primary and emergency healthcare services, including outpatient examination rooms, a surgical center with four operating suites, a pharmacy, a 24-hour-a-day emergency room and an AirMed helicopter landing pad to allow for the transfer of patients to the University of Utah Medical Center.
