NV5 Playing a Key Role in Electric Vehicle Revolution

In June, Southern California Edison (SCE) awarded NV5 a $4M contract to support its Charge Ready program for electric vehicle charging in California. NV5 will provide complete design packages (civil, electrical, survey, permitting, and construction support) at nearly 300 private and public electrical vehicle charging sites throughout SCE’s service territory over the next 3 years. The project will include residential, commercial, and industrial locations and will serve programs for both passenger vehicles and medium-to-heavy freight.

Multiple NV5 offices and organizations will be working together on this project. Civil engineers and surveyors in San Diego will be coordinating with electrical engineers in Murietta, who will be working with permit coordinators from the Power group in San Diego. Doug Taft is the Principal-in-Charge for the project, Jon Rowland is the overall project manager, and Giovanni Gonzalez will serve as Technical Advisor. “NV5 is at the forefront of a vehicular transportation revolution in this country,” said Jon. “Electric vehicles are our future, and NV5 is designing the infrastructure required to support the movement.” Link to the project on NV5.com here.
