NV5’s Survey Team Performs Laser Scan to Help Preserve an Ancient Egypt Site

NV5’s survey team performed a laser scan at the archaeological site of Malqata to create a detailed map of the King’s Palace. The project is featured as the lead story in the latest edition of POB (Point of Beginning) survey magazine.  From the scan and the on-going study of the King’s Palace, the archaeological team made a number of refinements to the previous architectural plans. They have also started the conservation work of capping the ancient mud brick walls with modern bricks, knowing that they have a complete and accurate model of what exists beneath the cap from NV5’s laser scan and processing.  Read the complete story here.
