Sage Energy Consulting helps Anaheim Transportation Network charge battery electric buses for Disneyland® Resort

Visitors to Disneyland® Resort may get to ride in a battery electric bus charged with solar power. Sage Energy Consulting , an NV5 company, is helping the Anaheim Transportation Network (ATN) on a comprehensive multi-stage plan to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, save on their electric costs and intelligently charge their new electric buses, including some charging locations with solar power and microgrid battery backup systems.

Sage, a leader in comprehensive sustainable energy planning, has agreed to provide financial modeling and contract support for Charge Management Services and solar and battery energy storage systems. Sage will also provide ongoing support for ATN’s Self Generation Incentive Program rebate, available to customers of the state’s electric utilities who install a microgrid system like ATN’s that will enable cost savings and battery electric bus charging capabilities during a power outage.

“Electrifying a transportation network requires careful planning in order to be both sustainable and reliable,” said David Seiler, Director of Business Development atSage Energy Consulting. “We welcome the opportunity to continue to work with the Anaheim Transportation Network to efficiently manage their growing fleet of electric buses and deploy the additional resources to achieve their goal of 100 percent fleet electrification by 2025.”

The Anaheim Transportation Network was awarded a Clean Transportation Grant from the California Energy Commission for the microgrid project, which will provide additional options for financing multiple projects.

“Our work with Sage Energy Consulting is enabling us to operate at the forefront of the clean transportation movement,” offered Dianna Kotler, Executive Director of Anaheim Transportation Network. “Their expertise when supporting multiple aspects of our fleet electrification — from providing charging and incentive financial modeling, relative market data, and support with contract negotiation, to developing and deploying on-site renewables power generation — provides us with the comprehensive information required to move towards our sustainability goals in tandem with our transportation needs.“
