What do you like most about your job?
My favorite part of job is traveling and visiting National Parks and Monuments around the country. As a field surveyor, I have the opportunity to be near remote locations making it easy to sightsee on off days or when my rotation ends. It’s very rewarding to map remote wilderness areas, being in scenic places that most people don’t get to experience. With the travel, I really enjoy meeting people from different parts of the country.
What’s your favorite work location?
For me it’s between Glacier National Park in Montana, and the mouth of the Mississippi as it flows into the Gulf of Mexico. Both places are incredible, and for different reasons- the mountains and wildlife of Glacier, and the vast floodplains of the Mississippi.
When not working, what do you like to do?
Golf..golf..golf! As well as riding ATVs. And, of course, spending time with my family.
