Quantum Spatial is currently mapping Glacier Peak for the U.S. Geological Survey’s 3DEP program and was featured in a news story from KIRO 7 in Seattle, Washington.
Using a Cessna Caravan equipped with a Leica ALS 70 sensor, Quantum Spatial staff collected high accuracy LiDAR data at 8 ppsm. The total project area encompasses 482 square miles and includes Glacier Peak and Monte Cristo.
LiDAR data such as this are a part of a national program for federal, state, and local stakeholders to develop a high accuracy elevation dataset for the county known as 3DEP (http://nationalmap.gov/3DEP/). The data provided will be used to help the USGS to assess the terrain of the active volcano and identify key points for seismic monitors.
