NV5 - Bear River Performing Arts Center

Bear River High School Performing Arts Center

NV5 provided a variety of geotechnical, materials testing, and special inspection services on this new 11,000-square-foot, multi-level structural steel performing arts center that included a theatrical stage, auditorium seating, and office space.

Our services included a geotechnical investigation and report; review of plans and specifications for testing requirements; and materials testing during casting of the foundation and slabs-on-grade, including concrete slump, air content, strength, unit weight, and water cement ratios. In addition, we provided periodic batch plant inspections to observe procedures, review scale calibrations, and verify sand moisture. We also coordinated visual and non-destructive testing services in the fabricator’s shop (located in Ogden, Utah) during fabrication of structural steel sections.

NV5 prepared field and laboratory reports electronically on a daily basis for distribution to parties involved in review, and we coordinated the transfer of documentation to the Division of the State Architect (DSA) during the transfer of responsibilities associated with the materials testing.
