Following a fire suppression system failure that released water throughout 13 floors and affected approximately 87 units of a high-rise condominium, NV5 building scientists were tasked with completing a damage assessment and monitoring the mitigation and remediation efforts. The project progressed through three phases, and the initial phase required a team of water damage specialists to identify materials in need of removal and drying. Subsequent phases were for post remediation verification (PRV), including verification of material removal and dry-out and the testing and assessment of indoor air quality. The project culminated with the preparation and delivery of an overall summary report and reports for individual units regarding our findings and analytical results for the PRV testing.
