The goals of Capitol Federal Hall are two-fold: provide flexibility and promote sustainability in business education. The new facility supports trends in undergraduate and graduate business education, including finance, marketing, management, and entrepreneurship.
Spaces include an auditorium, classrooms, behavior, network, and financial information labs, conference rooms, small collaboration areas, interview rooms, and a communal, central atrium with an LED digital display.
The McCarthy Applied Portfolio Management Finance Lab houses two Bloomberg Terminals and an electronic stock ticker. The space provides students with the opportunity to learn how to monitor and analyze market data. The first-floor Business Career Services Center features small conference rooms for on-site job interviews, waiting areas, and a lounge for corporate recruiters. The Business Communication Center offers coaching on writing and oral presentations.
Eighteen classrooms with state-of-the-art technology allow for greater connectivity to the world and create a richer academic experience for both students and instructors. The classrooms offer a variety of configurations appropriate for current and future teaching pedagogies.
A 350-seat auditorium acts as the largest classroom space in Capitol Federal Hall and supports technology-based lecture and didactic instruction with a video projection system and three fixed screens. Smaller teaching assistant spaces, tutoring rooms, and study areas provide business students more opportunities for collaboration.
