Geotechnial forensic engineering services were requested by an insurance company to evaluate a depression and associated floor collapse that occurred at a shopping center located in Tennessee. NV5 staff completed a visual assessment of the insured structure, and a geotechnical evaluation of soil conditions that could have caused the ground surface depression and associated floor slab collapse, as well as other associated distress to the subject structure. NV5 also retained a subcontractor that specializes in the video recording of storm lines for breaches to videotape portions of the interior of a storm pipeline that traversed beneath the affected area of the building and the west parking lot.
