To better support outward-facing public communication and internal staff collaboration, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California initiated a significant technology upgrade.
The Boardroom features two large LED video walls flanking the famous MWD medallion logo behind the dais, providing excellent views of meeting materials. Strategically placed remote control cameras provide video capture, and a full-featured control room delivers flexibility with all aspects of audiovisual, sound reinforcement, online recording, and broadcasting for both formal hearing and informal sessions.
Dais stations include updated digital touch screen displays delivering board members with personalized viewing of meeting exhibits and integrated voting capabilities. An upgraded sound distribution system delivers intelligible speech and sound reinforcement throughout, and Assistive Listening System receivers are available for the hard of hearing.
Updated Committee Rooms now provide an optimal environment for medium to large group discussion, enhanced brainstorming, and decision-making. Each room is a technology-rich space with video and audio-conferencing capabilities, wireless presentation from mobile device and tablet annotation. Featuring unified communication and collaboration technologies supporting video-enabled applications, rooms also include an interactive touch LED video wall as the main presentation display. Collaboration software and hardware, video capture, and videoconference systems enhance room capabilities, and meeting facilitators can expand, move, and annotate on-screen content at will.
Project-wide acoustic design also delivers noise control in sensitive areas, improving speech intelligibility for all spaces throughout the facility.
