Galaxy Macau is a world-class luxurious resort that includes food and beverage outlets, entertainment facilities, and exclusive hospitality. The site consumes electricity, diesel, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) with energy spend of MOP 236 million per year.
NV5 was entrusted by Galaxy Entertainment Group Limited’s Facility Management Department to conduct an energy audit of the entire mega-complex and all energy consuming systems with a view to identify energy reduction opportunities. This audit followed the ASHRAE Level 2 and ISO 500002 standards and was completed in 2 months.
Our energy audit provided recommendations and resulted in savings in the following areas: lighting efficiency and control, steam boiler optimization, central plant optimization (chiller plant, heat pump, HW boiler), vertical transport upgrade, electricity quality, airside system optimization, pool facilities opportunities, kitchen refrigeration opportunities, and equipment efficiency.
The electricity saving initiatives were identified at USD $6.54M per year; diesel saving initiatives were identified at USD $540,000 per year.
