Sponsored by the New York Restoration Project (founded by Bette Midler and funded by the Home Depot Foundation), the Home Depot Children’s Garden in NYC was a 20’ x 100’ vacant city lot in the East Harlem section of Upper Manhattan that was transformed by NV5 into a children’s learning garden.
“The community loves it. People in the neighborhood can use it as their backyard.”
— Nik Cherov, quoted in Arbor Day Magazine
The garden was designed in accordance with Arbor Day Foundation guidelines to earn “Nature Explore Classroom Certification” — the first in New York City.
