Lake Elsinore and Canyon Lake Nutrient TMDL Watershed-wide Monitoring and Annual Reporting

NV5 is a key teaming partner to implement a Phase 2 Water Quality Compliance Monitoring Program in the San Jacinto River Watershed for stormwater and in-lake monitoring to address requirements of the Lake Elsinore and Canyon Lake Nutrient Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL).

NV5 is the lead for the watershed-wide monitoring and reporting program. NV5 coordinates and conducts all storm sampling events to determine the total nutrient loads into the lakes from their tributaries. NV5’s roles include siting, installing, operating, maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting automated sampling equipment. All monitoring efforts follow the project Monitoring Plans and Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) to ensure consistent sampling procedures, which, in turn, ensure accurate water quality data.

NV5’s tasks include preparing data for submission to California Environmental Data Exchange Network (CEDEN) and preparing annual reports summarizing the data to demonstrate progress toward attaining compliance with respective waste load allocations and/or Lake Elsinore and Canyon Lake Nutrient TMDL response targets. NV5 also provides stakeholder meeting support for the agencies of the TMDL Task Force. NV5 attends Task Force and Technical Advisory Committee meetings to provide updates on monitoring activities and present summaries of monitoring progress and results.
