Natural and Cultural Resources Critical Analysis for Lobo Ranch Solar Facility

NV5 prepared a natural and cultural resources critical analysis for the Lobo Ranch study area. The study area encompassed 46,112 acres of the Lobo Ranch on the Agua Salada and Cebollata Grant land in Cibola and Sandoval Counties, New Mexico. The analysis covered key natural resources that may have impacted the project or caused delays, as well as potential federal or state permitting requirements. NV5 utilized the online resources of available information for the review process. The analysis covered the following topics: potential clean water act permitting requirements for waterways and wetlands; Federal Emergency Management Agency flood zones; vegetation and land use; soils; the presence of karst topography; and the potential for state- or federally-listed threatened or endangered species to occur within the study area. Potential areas for migratory bird travel corridors and nesting areas were also reviewed.
