The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) tasked NV5 with performing historic architectural and landscape analyses for its transportation projects statewide. These analyses include historic architecture and landscapes, including battlefields, graveyards, rural historic districts, linear transportation features, and traditional cultural properties.
Specifically, we conduct reconnaissance and intensive-level architectural and landscape field surveys; identify, analyze and evaluate historic properties; prepare historic contexts and biographical sketches; complete evaluations of National Register eligibility; and recommend carefully delineated and justified National Register boundaries.
All investigations comply with the requirements of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended, other state and federal regulations, and NCDOT’s current Guidelines for Survey Reports for Historic Architectural Resources.
