The Chemours Company is a global leader in Titanium Technologies, Thermal & Specialized Solutions, and Advanced Performance Materials with a wide range of industrial and specialty chemicals products for markets, including coatings, plastics, refrigeration and air conditioning, transportation, semiconductor and consumer electronics, general industrial, and oil and gas.
NV5 provided MEP/FP design for the core and shell and fit out and energy modeling of 342,000 SF of laboratory, office, and support spaces. The energy modeling served to guide early design decisions and comply with local code requirements. The project involved consolidating two BTS buildings to house Chemours’ Fluoro and Titanium (TT) divisions that make up the R&D facility. Phase 2 services are to plan out the requirements collected during Phase 1 for the research facility to be located University of Delaware’s Science Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Campus in Newark, Delaware. The project is Three Green Globes Certified. The facility is unique with 278 fume hoods and walk-in enclosures. Systems designed by NV5 included:
