Picatinny Arsenal Design Services

NV5 provided engineering design, environmental permitting, floodplain mapping and construction document preparation services for various projects at Picatinny Arsenal. Engineering designs included over twenty stormwater management facilities, soil erosion and sediment control facilities and drainage infrastructure improvements. As part of the contract to develop Flood Hazard Area constraints mapping for the entire base, NV5 prepared flood studies (HEC-RAS ) for over 20 miles of onsite watercourses and water bodies. The studies incorporated detailed hydrologic modeling (HEC-HMS ) prepared by NV5, as well as existing United States Geological Survey (USGS)  gauge data for Green Pond Brook.

In addition, through NV5’s involvement in numerous large and small scale projects throughout the base, NV5 has been responsible for the delineation of many miles of wetlands. Permits and approvals prepared by NV5 include Freshwater Wetlands Individual Permits; Flood Hazard Area Permits and Verifications; and Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Plan Certification. NV5 has also provided advisory and support services to Arsenal staff regarding wetlands permitting, wetlands mitigation, flood hazard area issues and stormwater management design, as well as gave presentations regarding the same at the Arsenal.
