NV5, along with subcontractor Maffei Structural Engineering, is providing as-needed services to the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) and CleanPowerSF (CPSF) in support of the agencies’ goals to develop and procure renewable and advanced energy projects. Thus far, the NV5 team has been engaged to support a variety of projects, including feasibility assessments for energy projects for SFMTA, Moscone West Convention Center and a Public Library. Currently, the NV5 Team is completing design and permitting for an 800-kW solar PV system paired with BESS at Moscone West. NV5 has been engaged to assist CPSF by performing analytical reviews of competitive offers for wholesale energy supply for new solar and wind projects with storage, and is serving as owner’s engineer by providing construction oversight services and technical advice to legal counsel for projects under construction or nearing approval. NV5 also assisted with CPSF’s Integrated Resource Plan, screening City properties in San Francisco and in other Bay Area Cities, for solar siting. This included conceptual plans and cost modeling, with upcoming follow-on work to provide OE services for procurement and implementation of several sites to provide front-of-meter power under PPAs.
