To support UMCMS’s transition to Revit, NV5 focused on developing custom standards, templates, and resource files to establish a strong foundation for internal project delivery. Building upon the institution’s existing CAD standards, the NV5 team has customized its proprietary Revit starter packages—complete with templates, best practices documentation, and family libraries—to suit UMCMS’s workflows and long-term BIM goals.
After developing the standards and templates, NV5 integrated project setup, workflows, and guided the UMCMS’s team through early adoption. These efforts enabled both internal staff and external consultants to work within a unified BIM environment, enhancing consistency and efficiency across all phases of design and construction documentation.
Deliverables include a comprehensive Revit Template and over 60 pages of documented standards, covering everything from line weights and view templates to Revit-to-CAD export settings. NV5’s consultative approach ensures these resources are not only technically sound but also tailored to support the day-to-day needs of UMCMS’s team—making the transition to Revit smooth, scalable, and future-ready.
